Five steps, start to finish, and most residential floors are complete in a single day. Below is exactly what happens on your slab, what to expect before the crew arrives, and what you need to do to get ready.

The Five-Step Installation
- Step 1
Diamond grinding
The slab is ground with diamond tooling to strip sealers, old coatings, and contamination, opening the pores of the concrete. Diamond grinding creates a solid bond between the coating and the slab. Everything that follows depends on this step being done properly.
- Step 2
Crack, spall and joint repair
Hairline cracks, chipped edges, pitting, and control joints are filled and leveled. Anything left unaddressed telegraphs through the finished surface, so repairs happen before a drop of coating is applied.
- Step 3
Polyurea base coat with moisture barrier
A polyurea base goes down across the prepared slab. It includes a moisture barrier, which matters on Florida ground slabs. It also stays flexible so it moves with the concrete as the building settles.
- Step 4
Flake broadcast
Decorative flake is broadcast into the wet base to full refusal, then scraped back once cured. The flake gives the floor its color, depth and a large part of its anti-slip texture.
- Step 5
Polyaspartic topcoat
A polyaspartic topcoat seals the flake and takes the wear. It’s UV stable, so the floor holds its color in direct sun. It also makes the surface waterproof and simple to clean.

Choosing the finish
Flake blends and solid colors are chosen on site, against your own light and your own concrete, so you don’t have to guess from a screen.
Scheduling and permits
Most residential coating work across Broward and Palm Beach County doesn’t require a permit. We confirm it for your address before anything is scheduled. Commercial work is booked overnight or during a weekend so the business keeps trading.
Before the crew arrives
What You Need to Do to Get Ready
- Clear the floor completely, including shelving, freezers and anything mounted at floor level.
- Move vehicles out for the day and leave the driveway clear for the grinder and the vacuum.
- Leave an outdoor faucet and a standard outlet accessible.
- Plan to stay off the floor overnight, and to keep vehicles off it until the following day.
