Diamond grinding opens the pores of the concrete so the base keys into the slab mechanically. A surface-applied finish sits on top and lifts. Grinding is the step that decides whether a floor lasts, and it’s the one that’s often skipped by a contractor with a surprisingly low quote.

Installation takes a single day on most residential floors. That day covers the grinding, the crack and joint repair, the base coat, the flake broadcast, and the topcoat. Larger commercial slabs take longer. We confirm the schedule in writing before work starts.

Parking on the floor is fine the day after installation, once the polyaspartic topcoat has cured through. Foot traffic is fine the same evening, so a garage coated in the morning is walkable that night.

Emptying the garage before the crew arrives is the one thing that keeps a one-day install on schedule. The floor has to be clear to the walls for grinding. Anything left inside will sit in grinding dust. Leave an outdoor faucet and a standard outlet accessible for the crew.

The lifetime warranty covers the product against yellowing, fading, and peeling. It’s a warranty on the coating material, and it covers the finish failing on its own. Workmanship sits outside it.

Permits generally aren’t needed if you’re having an existing slab coated since the Florida Building Code exempts painting and similar finish work from permitting.
